Scrapy Sewing Weather

Scrap sewing when the weather is cold, snowy and rainy. It’s a wonderful time to use up my stash for the good of others. I recently got these reversible adult clothing protectors done for a local assisted living / life care center.  One of the care givers there (TJ) will put them to good use for her patients. I’m so blessed she asked me to make these. I usually use velcro and a bow for the closer. This bunch has cotton twill and bias binding ties that will be easier to use and launder. I also used all cotton and easy wash upcycled fabrics. The care givers requested gender neutral colours too. Things to think about when sewing for a senior community. What other tips have you for sewing for seniors or life care centers?

Tis the season for giving.

  1. Oh how I wish I could sew. But then again, I knit shawls for the sick and elderly and little preemie hats for the local hospital. So if we all do our bit, we get there in the end;o) your work is beautiful!!! Xoxox Johanna
